Our Quality Assurance Approach

Tzero Labs does not operate an independent laboratory. Our quality assurance model is built around coordinating through recognized, accredited inspection and testing agencies — including SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, Cotecna, Saybolt, and other approved port-based laboratories.

This means that when you engage Tzero Labs, testing is performed by organizations that are ISO/IEC 17025 accredited or equivalent, and inspection is conducted by personnel aligned to ISO/IEC 17020 standards. We provide the coordination layer that ensures these engagements happen efficiently, on time, and with complete documentation.

Transparency note: Tzero Labs collaborates with and coordinates through recognized inspection and testing agencies. We do not claim direct accreditation for laboratory testing. All testing is performed by the relevant accredited agency, and documentation reflects the issuing body's credentials.
Evidence we provide
  • Coordination confirmation and engagement records
  • Agency test reports and COA from accredited labs
  • Inspection certificates from recognized inspection companies
  • Internal quality procedures and checklists
  • Chain-of-custody sample documentation
  • Anti-corruption and impartiality declarations

Inspection Agency Coordination

Tzero Labs supports inspection through a network of recognized international and port-based inspection agencies. These agencies carry their own accreditations, professional standing, and recognized methodologies — and their reports carry the weight that petroleum transactions require.

Our role is to coordinate efficiently with these agencies: arranging attendance, managing sample dispatch, tracking results, and ensuring documentation reaches all parties on time. We do not perform testing ourselves, and we do not overstate our role in the inspection process.

  • SGS — global leader in inspection, testing, and certification
  • Intertek — recognized for petroleum quality and quantity testing worldwide
  • Bureau Veritas — international inspection and classification services
  • Cotecna — commodity inspection and trade facilitation
  • Saybolt — specialized in petroleum quantity and quality measurement
  • Port-approved and locally recognized laboratories

FAQ

Answers for procurement teams, auditors, and counterparties who need to understand Tzero Labs' quality and inspection framework.

Petroleum procurement and quality compliance review

No. Tzero Labs does not operate its own testing laboratory. We coordinate petroleum testing through recognized, accredited inspection agencies such as SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, Cotecna, and Saybolt. All test results and certificates are issued by and under the accreditation of the relevant agency.

SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, Cotecna, Saybolt, and other recognized agencies maintain their own ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation and ISO/IEC 17020 inspection body alignment. Their credentials can be verified through their respective accreditation bodies. Tzero Labs selects coordination partners based on their standing and recognition in the markets where we operate.

Certificates of quality and quantity are issued by the inspection agency performing the test or survey — not by Tzero Labs directly. We assemble and verify that all required certificates are in order, track their delivery, and confirm they align with the relevant specification and transaction requirements.

Testing is conducted using recognized petroleum testing methods — primarily ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and IP (Institute of Petroleum) standard methods, as well as applicable ISO and EN standards for specific products and markets. The appropriate method is specified per product, market, and counterparty agreement before testing begins.
